Understanding Skincare
Before discussing the beauty of body butter, we must understand the importance of taking care of our skin with products. Skincare is essential to self-care and crucial for maintaining healthy, vibrant skin. As our body's largest organ, the skin deserves exceptional care to stay luminous and healthy.
Effective skincare enhances not just our appearance but also our confidence and wellbeing. In the winter, I have learned I have to work a bit harder to maintain my skincare routine because the sun disappears, I lose all focus and energy, and my skin begins to experience flares.
When I initially created the formula for my body butter, it was out of desperation. In the winter, I HAVE to keep my skin from being dry (otherwise, it peels and burns), and I also need extra self-care during this time because seasonal depression is real...
Understanding Body Butter
Our body butter is a skincare staple, offering hydration and nourishment. Its rich, creamy texture from shea butter, cocoa butter, and essential oils provides a protective barrier, locking in moisture for prolonged softness.
Thick and Greasy or Moisturizing and Luxurious?
Now, many people will often say that body butter is too greasy. Still, there are ways to cut some greasiness (arrowroot or tapioca flour are examples). There are a lot of benefits to using body butter:
1. Deep Hydration: Ideal for dry areas, it ensures long-lasting moisture, leaving skin smooth and supple.
2. Nourishment: Packed with natural ingredients, it can revitalize skin for a radiant complexion.
3. Environmental Protection: Antioxidants within the butters and oils may protect against external elements.
4. Great for layering other products: I like to put on my body butter and apply perfume afterward for lasting wear.
If you are someone who doesn't like using body butter, you can use a body oil instead.
I Love Body Butter, but I Don't Want to Ruin My Clothes!
I usually apply body butter when I get out of the shower. This allows me time to put on my undergarments and get ready for the day. I also wear a terry cloth robe to absorb some of the body butter to prevent it from staining my clothing. I also put on body butter at night so that my skin can absorb the product without the need to worry about it in the morning.
