Wash Your Face for Radiant Skin

Wash Your Face for Radiant Skin

In a world of crazy back to back Zoom meetings, high anxiety, overwhelm and a fatigue that can be so great that we forget to wash our face at night, its no wonder our skin screams at us for attention.

The good thing is that you can maintain your skin's natural beauty in the comfort of your own home!

In my last blog post, I highlighted my skincare routine, but I want to break things down. The first step in taking care of your skin is to cleanse it! Perspiration, grease, dust, stale make-up, dirt, and bacteria all collect on your skin and must be completely removed. We are all aware of different skin types; oily, dry, and sensitive (or a combination of any of these).

Wash Your Face

Cleansing helps to open the pores and allows for the skin to best absorb the products you are going to apply later on in your routine. While you may not wear makeup right now (hello pandemic), consider a makeup removing balm (coming soon to the shop) that also nourishes your skin. We’re friends here...you know that even when you use a regular cleanser it doesn’t always remove your makeup. A little bit of olive oil can go a long way!!

To properly cleanse, begin by wetting the face with lukewarm water. Apply the cleanser that is best for your skin type on your face and neck and gently massage in a circular, upward motion according to package instructions. I also love using oil based cleansers, especially because my skin is dry. I have seen a huge difference on my skin by using an oil based cleanser.

Toner or a floral water

I love a good toner or floral water!! Toner is important because it helps remove any remaining cleanser or residue on your skin. It helps to close pores and maintain the skin's natural pH (more on this in a later post).

Nourishing Your Skin

Nourishing your skin is also an essential part of any beauty routine. Dirt, dust, hot and cold weather, cosmetics, and even sunlight, all tend to dry out the skin, robbing it of moisture and oil.

Don’t forget about cleansing your face each night before bed! Take the essential steps now to keep your skin healthy and vibrant!

When in doubt, visit a dermatologist if you have specific issues.
